Alhamdulillah, finally PAS has come back to one of their core fights – the Hudud law. This has been their strength to harness support from the mass, especially the muslim community. With more to become more aware and act to Islamic teachings, this will give an extra momentum to PAS, which at certain point lately, looked like lost and more like a third tier party in Pakatan Rakyat coalition.
As a muslim, I do support Hudud law to be implemented. Afterall, Hudud is one part of big chunk of how Islamic or Syariah law. And it is specifically to muslims ONLY. Therefore, non-muslims should not be afraid.
However, my concern is more towards the implementation and the execution without proper consideration. It is not as easy as it says.
Let just take a recent incident whereby DS Anwar Ibrahim is alleged to have sexual intercourse with a chinese woman. The recording is quite clear, and the person who was with him said it is DS Anwar Ibrahim. The problem is, DS Anwar denied it is him (of course he wil deny.. afterall, some says he is facing sodomy trial, it is impossible it is him). Even though he lodge a police report, it was a report for distributing the recording, not for making false allegation the actor is him.
Basic understanding, 4 witnesses are needed. The only witness there is Datuk Eskay. Plus, do remember that there are some criteria that need to be met. Does Datuk Eskay fits in? I don’t know.
With these kind of “shortages”, will we use Hudud law or other means? If Hudud law is that only the most matter, DS Anwar is scott free, the three Datuk trios will face the punishment because falsely (?) accusing DS Anwar Ibrahim and we can dump away all the cameras and CCTVs as recording is not part in Hudud law implementation.
Again, I stress that I am all in for Hudud law, but all have to remember that Hudud law is not the only way. That’s for the non-political view of mine.
Here goes now my political view.
PAS has been putting blame on UMNO for not allowing Hudud law to be implemented. In fact, any PAS short comings, all blame to be put on UMNO and Barisan Nasional. Why? If PAS is dead serious, they should not act like what dinturtle put it look like a drama. PAS has been saying these for years, yet failed to implement.
Latest, it sounds like they got permission to do it in Kelantan, but in the same time their partners in Pakatan Rakyat will not condone to implement Hudud once they govern Malaysia.
If PAS successfully implement Hudud law accordingly, they will not just bring down UMNO and Barisan Nasional, but also Pakatan Rakyat as a whole. PAS can govern Malaysia by their own. They can get the votes without the help of DAP and PKR. They will not need DS Anwar Ibrahim. They will not need Karpal Singh. They will not need Lim Kit Siang and son. They will not need Wan Azizah. They will not need Nurul Izzah. They will not need Azmin Ali, Ronnie Liu, Nga and Ngeh.
However, of course, this is one of the element of PAS strength. This is their core.
However, if UMNO and Barisan Nasional decided to blend in and put Hudud in part of Malaysian justice system, what will be the next core strength for PAS? They have dropped their Islamic State and replaced it Welfare State. So… if Hudud law is to be there and done by Barisan Nasional… what will happen to PAS?
Just to share what I’ve watched at Mahaguru58’s blog on Hudud. I know some may do not want to watch this guy in the vid giving his thoughts. Some also have labelled him to be one sided. However, do listen with open mind.
Again, I would like to stress that I am all in for Hudud law to be implemented.
Anyway, take a moment for a while and ponder on this picture:
What do you think when you look in this picture? Anger? With or without rationale?
Question on the street: Can the interested party(s) involve in implementing Hudud law to explain and give a clear picture so that majority really show that they are interested and agree Hudud to be part of our justice system?
