As the title suggested, I do feel DAP is actually the main player in Pakatan Rakyat, not PKR or PAS. Why?
Even though DS Anwar Ibrahim is the Opposition Leader, and PAS claiming that they are important role player in Pakatan and currently have control over the two main parties, I do see DAP is far way better than combined PKR and PAS.
Yes, PAS controlled two states in Malaysia – Kelantan and Kedah. DAP have one (Penang) and PKR unofficially one – Selangor (but as we speak, much decision made can easily be revoked by Ronnie Liu in Selangor). However, among the three, PKR and PAS seems to be bowing to DAP’s voice. Any noise made by DAP will resulted PKR and PAS to hold or halt decisions they made. However, in vice versa situation, DAP generally proceed with what they believe is right, and both PKR and PAS will (or must?) follow.
If they are not the main player, I believe this situation won’t happen. If really Pakatan Rakyat is all about harmony and reverse to what they criticize in Barisan Nasional, I verily believe that DAP, PKR and PAS should be able to sit togather in all aspects be it DAP, PKR or PAS led state government. They should be able to practice what they believe in.
But do we see it in their management? Yes, there are convention, there are meetings.. but how many of those resulting DAP to override what they have decided earlier? How many of those outcomes respecting the foundation of decision making made by PAS and PKR?
In terms of campaigning, DAP seems to have a free will to use racism to get their votes. DAP have shown how they do it in Sarawak and do not feel guilty about it. As for PKR and PAS, they claim UMNO to racist, but failed to criticise their own member to use racism approach.
By the way, as reported in news, DAP is planning on a merger with a party in Sarawak. Yes, it is still in early stages. However, to my fellow Malaysians in Sarawak, I have to ask this… why do they need such a merger? Why Sarawakian cannot have their own party in Pakatan Rakyat’s coalition?
If Pakatan Rakyat is about the people, I do think the merger should not be proceed. At least the Sarawakian have their own party to voice out their opinion.
If really Pakatan Rakyat is about people be able to voice their opinions, then let not the merger happen.
If really Pakatan Rakyat is better than Barisan, let the merger not happen. At least Barisan Nasional let the Sabahan and Sarawakian to have their own party in Barisan Nasional’s coalition.
So, in what ever circumstances… what does this show us? If DAP can decide what they want to do without consulting and awaiting for PAS and PKR to concur.. Why won’t PAS or PKR?
If Pakatan Rakyat is about equality, why DAP seems to be the main player?
Question on the street: Don’t DAP always seems to be intefere PKR and PAS decisions and actions?
So.. is it DS Anwar really the leader of Pakatan Rakyat? I don’t think so.
