KOTA BAHARU, March 28 (Bernama) — The Kelantan government has entered into a collaborative agreement with a private airline to mount direct charted flights to China in an effort to expand the state’s tourism industry.
State Economic Planning, Finance and the Welfare Committee Chairman Datuk Husam Musa said the maiden flight would take off on April 28.
“At the exco meeting today, we have agreed to collaborate with the private airline to have direct flights between Kota Baharu and Chengdu and Kota Baharu and Shichuan, China,” he told reporters after the Kelantan state exco meeting chaired by Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat here Monday.
Husam said the direct flight from Kota Baharu to China will take three-and-a-half hours compared with a flight duration of four hours and 30 minutes from the Kl International Airport in Sepang.
I would say that this is good news for business prospects in Kelantan. I do hope this will create more business opportunities either for locals and outside of Kelantan.
By this arrangement also, perhaps cost of transport and delivery will reduce on some items gone through these flights.
On the same note, I also hope that Kelantan government be able to cater and facilitate the flights and the arrangement done.I believe Datuk Nik Aziz, Datuk Husam and Kelantan excos have taken measures and consideration before making and agreeing to such arrangements.
And of course, by cutting short some flights from going to KLIA, it will create more flights from other part of the world. In other words, I would say that this can be a positive development for Malaysia to be hub of trades.
Question on the street: Who said Pakatan Rakyat’s ruling state cannot get good media coverage in mainstream media? Why don’t once in a while, we put aside political point of view and togather develop the nation, please?
