So… Now Khairy Has More Time For Pemuda (Or Some Say “Pemudi”)?

My eyes could not shut just yet… (perhaps I’m also interested to watch whether German can qualify for the last 16) when I read Out Syed The Box’s piece on Can KJ Be PKR’s Saviour (catchy title indeed). After reading through, I am more awake than before.. why? KJ will be no longer resume his duty as Deputy President of FAM!!!???

Well, then I read the other two blogs which I believe will catch this kind of news on KJ – Parpu’s and also Marahku. Indeed, I realise that the later two blogs have been bashing KJ since forever and thus, the presentation of such news can be political indeed.

Since I am in no mood to comment on politics, especially after reading Harakah’s piece on not all scholar’s or ulama are with Islam (sounds like, if you are not with PAS, you are not practising Islam), I’m not going to comment this news from a point of KJ’s whole political career development. Maybe I’ll touch a bit, but not in a scope of condamning him. Utusan reports:

With no nomination (at all????), now Khairy will no longer be the Deputy President of FAM, no longer be messing around with FAM’s matter, no longer be responsible for up and downs of Malaysian ranking in FIFA rankings chart, no longer be the one to be hailed for any winnings of Malaysian team but chickened out or be blamed once Malaysia being beaten.

If readers have the time to read from the start of this blog, OnDaStreet has been not agreeable with YB KJ’s involvement with FAM. Few articles have been written, especially responding to KJ fanatics on Malaysian success, but put the blame on others when Malaysia lose out. You can read some, like here, here and here. In the later, some even tried to make this blog sounds as racist type. Indeed, KJ was untouchable, but now even more untouchable because he is no longer be DP of FAM. He is no longer to be blamed nor being praised for he is no longer in FAM’s top management. 🙂

It is not that OnDaStreet hates KJ very much. His reputation in politics have been not that good even though some labelled him as beacon of hope. OnDaStreet admits, for once, also thought he is the beacon of hope, even for Malaysian football when he initiated MyTeam. However, as much what he has done in politics with such promises, it is clearly shown on football pitch. Once he won the DP seat, no significant change being brought in FAM. We still stuck with FAs and FCs facing financial problems, our football standard is not that interesting when our old rivals, such as Japan and South Korea have moved forward, and our stadiums seems to be more vacant seats than filled on match days. OnDaStreet was hoping, with his highly mentioned Oxford qualification, he can bring Malaysian football to the level we are supposed to be. We were one of the giants (without any Oxford grads at helm), in theory, Oxford experts can inject some impact to Malaysian football positive progress. But do we see any?

Well, good bye KJ. Thank you for your service to FAM, even though from my point of view, nothing really change when you are at FAM helm. Perhaps, YB KJ and KJ fanatics can take this as a silver lining that there will be more time and resources to strenghten Pemuda UMNO and Pemuda Barisan which lately more and more being known as “Pemudi”.

With YB KJ is no longer a Deputy President of FAM, I’m pretty sure that he has more focus on how to make Pemuda no longer called as “Pemudi”.

Question on the street: Can he? Will he can lead the “attack” from Pemuda angle, in line with DS Najib’s hope that Barisan should be more attacking issues rather than defending.. or he will be one of the biggest defence that Barisan and Pemuda has to make?
