SHAH ALAM: PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has challenged Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin to quit as MP and prove he is still wanted by the voters.
“If he is a man of principle, he should vacate his seat and allow the electorate to decide on his fate. If you want to fight, if you want to criticise, then criticise the rivals, not colleagues,” she said in her speech at the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Convention here yesterday.
Wan Azizah also refuted allegations that PKR was on the verge of collapse with the recent departure of four of its elected representatives.
Zulkifli was sacked from PKR on Saturday for his attacks against party policy.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported that Kulim-Bandar Baharu Umno division head Datuk Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir had invited Zulkifli to use Umno as his platform to serve the people.
“As Zul no longer believes in the direction and principles of the PKR, he can use Umno as his platform to serve the people,” said Abdul Aziz, who is also a member of the Umno supreme council.
He said Zulkifli’s expulsion was clear proof that there was no democracy in the opposition party.
In Kuala Lumpur, Puteri Umno head Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said Zulkifli’s expulsion would show the people the real agenda of the party, which was to fight for the cause of its leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
If YB Zul is to relinquish his post as Kulim’s MP, he can’t sit for the following by-election. Technically, even if YB Zul is the chosen MP for Kulim, he won’t be one. Come on DS Dr Wan Azizah.. you should know better when you let go Permatang Pauh’s seat months ago in order for DS Anwar can get elected as one of MP.
Do you think that YB Zul is too stupid to let go his position in order to prove that he will be chosen once again as Kulim MP? I’m pretty sure that YB Zul knows about technicallity if he is to quit as MP. And I’m pretty sure that has made to be known among MP, especially to those who quitted Pakatan in few days ago.
This pattern lately made by Pakatan isn’t making them stronger by support I’m sure. With so much happening surrounding DS Anwar, I’m pretty sure the management of Pakatan and PKR itself is not properly managed. Too much force and effort are done to divert allegation on DS Anwar on sodomy case by having talks and roadshows, but less or not worse – none on how to make Pakatan a better coalition.
I just hope that Pakatan can provide good option for the people to choose if Barisan do not improve.. but for the meantime, Pakatan is just like another “clown” to me…
Perhaps similar to little chit chat in a taxi when I was in Dublin few years back, during George Bush was running for President. The taxi driver said to me, “It’s just like choosing one of two clowns”.. Only that Barisan or Pakatan now is not as clown as George Bush or his opponent during those days.. but it might happen if Barisan and Pakatan do not improve their service to the people of Malaysia.
Question on the street: Should YB Zul let go his position as Kulim’s MP??? Either if it is “Yes” or “No”.. why???
