Based on the questions and answer options, I can say that it is clearly that the person who created this quiz did it using his/her emotions rather than his/her brain. Kindly note that I am not saying what he/she has done is stupid (considering that the person is able to do such quiz online and provide possible outcomes), but not using the ability to think properly.
I am not going to dwell on what belongs to whom, because as I am not a historian in sense of Nusantara historical events and values, but my concern on how one conveyed their frustration. Are we living in pre-historic world? Is there no other way to make things better for both?
I do remember a story that I read in a magazine few weeks ago. A story about a father advising his kid that have bad temper and let it out without thinking properly. What the father did is, he asked his son to stab a wall whenever the son is angry until the son feel good about it. And the son did as what his father told him to whenever he is angry. Day after day, the son’s temper was soothed. The son no longer stabbing the wall as frequent as before.
When things are calmer, the father asked the son how he felt. The son answered that he felt good and relieved after letting out his temper towards the wall. The father then asked his son to look back at the wall the son stabbed and what they could see holes and damage done to the wall. The wall of course can be repaired, but of course it will cost some time and resources.
What is the moral from story? Why I brought up the story? For fun? Of course I am not. You see, when we angry and we let it out in insensible way (in simple words not using the brain to think properly), we may feel relieved but at the same time we caused damage to other. In the story, at the very least, the wall didn’t fight back because it is a non-living thing. However, what the creator of this quiz has done is he/she has hurt Malaysians who came across and read the quiz. Can you imagine, in the event the initial matters that caused this scenario being resolved, how the person going to apologize to certain Malaysians that hurt by such act? And is it by a simple sorry can undone the damage?
For me, the Indonesians do have right to express their thoughts and so do we but to the extent of putting pig’s head on top of Malaysians flag is too much.
Way too much…
What say you?
