Since the first announcement made by UMNO Disciplinary Board, we can see various remarks, predictions, assumptions, and even for me some sweeping statements, be it from leaders, candidates, supporters or even normal people on the streets.
With a just a few days left before UMNO AGM, we could read various urges for UMNO reps to choose wisely their leaders who can be a catalyst to clean up the image of UMNO. UMNO has been seen as corrupt and unjust to the Rakyat, which I can say, caused by some of UMNO members’ own acts.
We can hear press release made by certain UMNO leaders with just a few days away to UMNO AGM. With Muhammad Taib with his “Meiji Restoration” and Muhyiddin with calls for UMNO to change or lose power, I would say the best comes from Tengku Adnan:
“Pilihlah yang betul-betul dan bukan yang salah, kita boleh kenyang sehari tetapi akan lapar selama-lamanya,”
I hope the delegates are not blind or deaf not to hear such calls. Even today’s event by a NGO – PERKASA held with TDM’s speech was in it, I hope good advise will be heeded. Some may hate him, or even considered him as senile, still good advice should not be taken lightly. Choose wisely, choose for the benefit of the whole country, not for your own stomach. No need to say, with majority malay are muslims, you should know what you will get in the after world if you failed to do the right thing accrodingly.
I should say this is a dilemma not only to UMNO, but also to MCA and MIC. With Samy Vellu restored as MIC President, I wonder what will be the impression from rakyat. UMNO along with MCA, MIC and BN party components have to work the hardest as the damages done were to severe.
Even though this is just a selection of new management, but the implication of not choosing wisely for the benefit of the nation can cause BN to lose, even before any effort being started yet.
In my opinion, partially to see whether UMNO delegates have chosen wisely, this coming by-elections will tell us.
Hopes on the street: Will there be restoration of political stability after this? Stop too much politicking politicians. YBs, do your job for RAKYAT!
