Yes, this is my question.
I supposed, many are following closely to what is happening for the past few weeks, and particularly these past few days.
As the development is updated mainly by responses of PAS, PKR & DAP leaders in regards to can or not the translation of God to Allah (instead of “Tuhan”), we can see mixed reactions ever since PAS’ Syura Ulama Council made their announcement few days ago.
The significant responses to me would be from TG Nik Aziz and DS Jamil Khir that suggested that this matter should be closed and no dispute should be made further.
HOWEVER…
It seems the decision made by government and PAS is not agreeable by PKR and DAP. The “Yes” announcement made by TG Hj Hadi made earlier is being hold firm, without PKR muslim member really understood the “don’t abuse” clause. They just hold firm on the “Yes” decision, but not taking the later part of the announcement.
[ODS Note: This is the dangerous part of being indirect "No" when firm decision is very much needed. There will be those who will cut and paste partially of the decision to fit their own purpose. I do hope that by now TG Hj Hadi and PAS members will learn from this incident.]
It seems, as at now, PKR and DAP do not accept the verdict made by PAS Syura Ulama Council, in which is regard by TG Nik Aziz as the same level as mufti. I have asked this through twitter to Azmin Ali and some other Pakatan Rakyat leaders:
What is the higher council to advise on Islamic matter in Pakatan Rakyat???
However, until now, I have not receive any feedback, or even any indicator from the news, especially from proPR media. I sincerely hope someone can clarify on this matter.
So.. what’s left?
I supposed, one of the options left, (unless PAS change their stand and succumb to fellow PR’s pressure) is the very much famous stand of PR in Islamic matters – “Agree to disagree”.
Just do remember, in regards to hudud, it is more towards application of rule of law for Malaysians to live. However, this “Allah” word translation issue is religious issue, that touch the faith of muslim and christians. This not about law or rule of what is the punishment of wrong doing.. this is about faith and beliefs.
So.. how PAS, DAP and PKR is going to go about this?
I do hope there will be a firm decision. I am very much hoping this issue is closed. I am praying there will be no “agree to disagree” as this will bring more harm to Pakatan Rakyat to be as trusted government in a long run. A decision of “agree to disagree” may work well as an opposition, whereby no responsibilities held for any decision made.
Remember, as Opposition can say anything, but the burden will fall on government of the day. So, if Pakatan Rakyat do really serious of being government, act like one. I believe, day by day, nearer to GE13, Malaysians also want to see how capable PR is as government. That is why, most of the time, whenever and wherever, people also will ask PR’s view on things.
So.. what it will be?
Question on the street: Ever since PAS’ prayer of “BN KO” in their last Muktamar, PAS have been tested with tests, especially on religious matters… is it a sign or a test for PAS to get closer or further than Allah?
